Tovino Thomas has been on a strong upward trajectory following the success of Lokah: Chapter 1, with reports suggesting he would feature in the upcoming film Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel. However, at a recent press meet in Hyderabad, the actor clarified that he is no longer part of the much-anticipated Telugu project.
According to Hindustan Times, Tovino Thomas said, "I don’t do multiple films at the same time. In Malayalam, we usually complete a film in a single schedule. But in Telugu, it takes almost a year to finish one project. That’s why I’m not doing straight Telugu films. I can commit 3 months, not an entire year."
At another press meet held in Chennai, Tovino Thomas addressed rumours suggesting tension between him and Dulquer Salmaan. Responding with humour, Tovino laughed off the speculation and remarked that if people weren’t talking about him, he might just call Dulquer and ask why. He firmly dismissed any claims of a rift, making it clear that there has never been any issue between the two.
The actor further elaborated on their bond, sharing that he and Dulquer have known each other for a long time and share a cordial relationship. He even revealed that early in his career, he had worked as an assistant director on one of Dulquer’s films, highlighting the professional connection and mutual respect they have maintained over the years.
Tovino Thomas is currently focused on promoting his upcoming film Pallichattambi, which is slated for a theatrical release on April 10. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony of Jana Gana Mana fame, the film also stars Kayadu Lohar as the female lead. Meanwhile, the song Kaattuchembakam from the film has been receiving a positive response from audiences.
