Upcoming Most-Awaited Movies On OTT: The upcoming weeks promise to be an exciting time for movie enthusiasts, with a slew of highly anticipated films gearing up for their OTT release. From the most-awaited Bollywood movie, The Sabarmati Report, to the highly anticipated Telugu actioner, Pushpa 2: The Rule and the Malayalam movie Marco, among others, there's a diverse range of cinematic offerings to look forward to. These movies will be available to stream on popular OTT platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar and JioCinema.
Upcoming Most-Awaited Movies On OTT
The Sabarmati Report
The story of The Sabarmati Report, starring Vikrant Massey, follows two parallel threads, one of which focuses on a determined journalist who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind the incident, while the other thread jumps forward in time, where another journalist stumbles upon a hidden report that sheds new light on the events that transpired.
According to several media reports, The Sabarmati Report is all set to stream on Zee5 from January 11, 2025.
Pushpa 2
Pushpa 2: The Rule is a 2024 Telugu action drama film directed by Sukumar, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. The film follows Pushpa Raj, a sandalwood smuggler, as he faces opposition from enemies, including SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS, in this sequel to Pushpa: The Rise.
If the reports are to be believed, Pushpa 2: The Rule will stream on Netflix in January 2025.
Marco
The 2024 Malayalam-language action thriller film, Marco, is a cinematic endeavor that boasts an impressive ensemble cast and a talented crew. Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Haneef Adeni, Marco is a joint production of Cubes Entertainments and Unni Mukundan Films. The film features a stellar cast, led by the versatile actor Unni Mukundan, who is accompanied by a talented group of actors, including Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu S Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Yukti Tareja.
Netflix has acquired the digital rights for the Hindi version of Marco, according to a Mathrubhumi report. The film is expected to premiere on OTT around 45 days after its theatrical release on December 20, likely in late January or February, although an official announcement is pending.
Mufasa: The Lion King
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Mufasa: The Lion King is expected to make its OTT debut in India in February or March 2025. This estimation is based on the typical 60- to 90-day theatrical window, although some films may take up to 120 days to transition to digital platforms. While this timeline provides a likely outline, an official announcement regarding the OTT release of Mufasa: The Lion King has yet to be made.
Chhorii 2
Chhorii 2, a direct sequel to the 2021 original, follows Sakshi as she embarks on a perilous mission to rescue her daughter from the clutches of a sinister religious cult leader, Pradhan Ji. Along the way, she must also confront and overcome societal superstitions, all while ensuring her child's safety and fighting against the cult's evil forces.
The movie will stream anytime soon on Prime Video.
Sookshmadarshini
Malayalam-language black comedy mystery thriller film that has been making waves in the cinematic world. Helmed by the talented director M.C. Jithin and penned by the creative duo Libin T.B and Athul Ramachandran, the film is a joint production of Happy Hours Entertainments and AVA Productions. The movie boasts an impressive cast, featuring the talented Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph in pivotal roles.
The movie which was supposed to be released on OTT a week ago, will now premiere on Disney+Hotstar, as announced by the platform.
