Upcoming South Indian Movie Releases 2024: South Indian cinema has taken the Indian film industry to a new height with the movies like 'RRR', 'Baahubali', 'Kantara', 'KGF' and others getting critical acclaim. 2024 also has a big lineup of several exciting and big-budgeted Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies releasing on the big screen.
Take a look at the list of upcoming South Indian movie releases in theatres in the second half of 2024.
1. Pushpa 2
'Pushpa' became a massive success at the box office and the audience appreciated the performances and intriguing storyline as well. The movie stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. Allu Arjun also won the National Film Award 2023 in the Best Actor category for his stellar performance in the movie. Its sequel will release on December 6, 2024.
2. Kalki 2898 AD
'Kalki 2898 AD' is one of the most expensive Indian movies of all time and has a blend of science fiction with mythology. Directed by Nsg Ashwin, the movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in the lead roles. The movie will hit the theatres on June 27, 2024. It also stars Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, Malvika Nair and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles.
3. Indian 2
'Indian 2' is the sequel to the 1996 Tamil movie 'Indian' and stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. The movie also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, S J Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani and Nedumudi Venu. It is scheduled to release on July 12, 2024.
4. The Greatest Of All Time
'The Greatest Of All Time' stars Thalapathy Vijay in the double roles with Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran playing the pivotal roles. The movie has created a lot of excitement among the audience, especially after the massive success of 'Leo'.
5. Devara
'Devara' stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. It also marks Jr NTR's return to the big screens after his blockbuster 'RRR'. Not much has been revealed about the plot of 'Devara' but its glimpses have created a lot of hype. The movie will hit the theatres worldwide on September 27, 2024.
6. Game Changer
Directed by S Shankar, 'Game Changer' stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The movie is scheduled to release in 2024.
7. Thug Life
'Thug Life' marks Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's reunion after their hit movie 'Nayakan' in 1987. The movie also stars Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami Gopikumar, Nassar, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The movie will hit the theatres in 2024.
8. Kanguva
'Kanguva' stars Suriya in the lead role with Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, and Anand Rah in supporting roles. It is reported to be a fantasy action movie and will hit the theatres in 2024.
