On Dussehra, filmmaker Anil Sharma, riding the success of his hit franchise Gadar, announced his upcoming project titled Vanvaas, which he describes as 'Kalyug Ka Ramayana.' The film which features Utkarsh Sharma and Nana Patekar, offers a unique perspective on the Ramayana, depicting a scenario where children send their parents into exile.

Talking about Vanvaas, director Anil Sharma said, "Ramayana and Vanvaas is a different take on the same where kids make their parents take exile. Kalyug Ka Ramayana jaha Apne hi Dete Hai Apno ko Vanvaas." The makers provided a sneak peek into the storyline, which delves into the enduring themes of duty, honor, and the repercussions of one's actions that influence the trajectory of lives.

Taking to his social media, Anil Sharma released an announcement video showcasing 'Apne Hi Apno Ko Dete Hai: Vanvaas,' effectively conveying the film's essence through its visuals and background music. The video also featured the song 'Ram Ram.' He captioned the video, "Parivaar ke liye ek Parivaarik film #Vanvaas. Aap sabhi ko Dussehra ki hardik shubhkamnayein." The post also listed the cast members, which includes Simrat Kaur, Khushboo Sundar and Rajpal Yadav.

Meanwhile, Anil Sharma has directed hit films such as Gadar Ek Prem Katha, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Apne, and Gadar 2, among others. Written, produced, and directed by Sharma, Vanvaas is set to release in theaters soon.

Earlier, Anil told IANS, "Jo 'Vanvaas' hai woh emotions ka Gadar hai. It is a blast of emotions. It is a story in which we have tried to show that a father is above all. It is a film that will get into everyone, and every father will watch the film and then tell their sons to go watch it.” Adding, 'Vanvaas' is also an emotional journey, "where I say, ‘apne hi dete hai apno ko vanvaas’. I am trying to tell the biggest truth in the world because it is very relevant in today’s time."
