Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth-Amitabh Bachchan’s Movie Sees Massive Drop On First Monday

Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth’s Tamil movie has been roaring at the ticket windows. The movie was released in theatres on October 10 in several languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Within just 4 days of its release, Vettaiyan entered Rs 100 crore club in India. After earning a massive amount over the festive weekend, the film saw a major drop in numbers at the box office. It would be interesting to see how long it takes to cross the Rs 200 crore mark.

As per Sacnilk, Rajinikanth’s movie earned Rs 5.25 crore on Day 5 (1st Monday). The net collection of Vettaiyan stands at Rs 110.00 crore. It had an overall 22.58 per cent Tamil occupancy in theatres on Monday. 17.82 per cent Telugu occupancy and 8.30 per cent Hindi occupancy in theatres.

TJ Gnanavel’s directorial delves into the story of a police officer, who is known for his unconventional methods to solve cases. When he takes the drug trade case, he finds several other crimes related to it. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier,  Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh and Rana Daggubati in key roles. The film's music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander. One of the songs named Manasilaayo in the film featuring Rajinikanth and Manju Warrier became popular before the release of the movie. As per reports, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 160 crore.
