Viduthalai 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier’s Tamil Movie Opens Strong Despite Clash With Pushpa 2

Viduthalai 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier starrer Tamil movie was released in theatres on December 20 and received positive responses from the audience and the critics. The film had made a strong box office opening. The period crime thriller drama is set to maintain a good pace at the ticket windows if it continues the grip. Vetrimaaran’s directorial focuses on the inequality among the people and the oppression from the system.

As per Sacnilk, Viduthalai 2 earned Rs 7 crore on Day 1. The movie earned Rs 6.6 crore in the Tamil version and Rs 0.4 crore in the Telugu version. It had an overall 38.50 per cent Tamil occupancy in theatres. The film had 29.61 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 30.88 per cent in the afternoon shows, 36.41 per cent in the evening shows and 57.08 per cent in the night shows. On the other hand, it had 19.79 per cent Telugu occupancy in theatres on Day 1. The film had 18.36 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 19.19 per cent in the afternoon shows, 16.61 per cent in the evening shows and 25.00 per cent in the night shows.

As per reports, the movie was made on a budget of around Rs 35 crore, including promotional costs.  

About Viduthalai 2 

The story revolves around the life of a police constable named Kumaresan, who has been recruited to arrest Perumal. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, Bhavani Sre, Soori, Surya Sethupathi, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Rajiv Menon in key roles.
