Vidya Balan, the versatile Bollywood actress known for her powerhouse performances, recently opened up about her relationship with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur in a conversation with News18. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, has been going strong for nearly 12 years. Vidya shared her thoughts on modern relationships, dating apps and the romantic gestures she's made for Siddharth.
The actress expressed her gratitude for finding her soulmate before the era of dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. She considers herself fortunate to have met Siddharth before the rise of these apps, which she believes have led to a generation of confused individuals with too many options. Vidya remarked, "Love will always remain love even. It’s what makes the world go round and round. It’s just that people have gotten so spoilt for choice in every area of their lives that they’re wanting to keep their options open even in terms of relationships."

Reflecting on how her love life would have been if she had to rely on dating apps, Vidya humorously admitted, "I would have sucked at it! I would have really gotten confused." She emphasized that modern relationships, despite their complexities, have more honesty. Vidya confessed to being a jealous partner but also the more romantic one in her relationship. She shared an anecdote about baking a cake for Siddharth on their first anniversary, despite not being a cook. Although the cake turned out to be lumpy, Siddharth's appreciation made the gesture memorable.

One aspect that Vidya appreciates about her relationship with Siddharth is that he belongs to the same line of work. Vidya also acknowledged the flip side of this, noting that she cannot lie to Siddharth about being exhausted due to work, given his understanding of the industry.
