Vijay Antony’s Late 16-Year-Old Daughter Meera To Be Cremated Today In Chennai; Everything To Know

Tamil actor and composer Vijay Antony’s daughter, Meera, passed away on Monday, September 19. She was only 16 years old and died by suicide. On Monday, police conducted a postmortem on her body and sent her to the Alwarpet home for homage. Now, on September 20, her body will be taken to a church in Nungambakkam for the last rituals, after which she will be cremated at a cemetery in Chennai’s Kilpauk.

Vijay Antony resides in DDK Road, Alwarpet, in Chennai. The actor-composer’s wife Fatima is a film producer, whereas the couple had a daughter named Meera, studying in the 12th standard at the Church Park School in Chennai. Her body was recovered on Monday morning, as she hanged herself from the fan.

Vijay Antony’s daughter’s suicide case came as a huge shock to the Tamil film industry. Several celebrities have been paying tribute to her, with Meera’s final rites performed according to the Christian customs. The couple also has a younger daughter named Lara.

According to Meera’s peers and teachers, she was the top performer in her school and was also the cultural secretary head of her school. The real reason behind her daunting decision has not been revealed yet, and neither any note has been found from her room. The investigation is under process.
