Samantha Ruth Prabhu will pair with Vijay Deverakonda for the first time in the film 'Kushi'. The actress had taken a break from the shooting of Kushi as she was working on her other projects and focusing on her health. As Samantha has resumed shooting for Kushi, Vijay Deverakonda and the crew had a special surprise for her.

The team of Kushi surprised Samantha with a cake on the sets to welcome her. Filmmaker Shiva Nirvana wrote, "The Fighter @Samanthaprabhu2 is back to #Kushi sets @TheDeverakonda @MythriOfficial @HeshamAWMusic musical. Everything is going to be beautiful."

Samantha retweeted the pictures and wrote, "Thank you for everything @ShivaNirvana #Kushi."

On the work front, Samantha will be seen in 'Shaakuntalam' and the release date of the film has now been postponed. Shaakuntalam will hit the theatres on April 14, 2023. Apart from Samantha, the movie also stars Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta. The movie is based on the internationally acclaimed Kalidasaā€™s Sanskrit play ā€˜Abhijnana Shakuntalamā€™.

Shaakuntalam will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The movie revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata. Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie is set in the Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), the grandeur and splendour of Dushyantā€™s Puru Dynasty.

Samantha will also star in the web series 'Citadel' along with Varun Dhawan. The series will release on Prime Video and it will be directed by director duo Raj and DK. Citadel will be an India spin-off of the American series of the same name and it is produced by the Russo Brothers. The American version of the show stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead role.

Samantha was last seen in Yashoda, along with Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharma.
