Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur are ready for their upcoming romantic comedy 'Family Star.' While audiences anticipated the movie to be a family-friendly love story based on the title, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objected to the use of vulgar language in this Telugu romance prior to its release. The censor board decided to mute certain swear words used in the rom-com. These objectionable words were primarily present in scenes set in the United States backdrop.
During the screening of the film in Hyderabad for the CBFC, it received a U/A certificate. In order to ensure that 'Family Star' is suitable for family audiences, the censor officials recommended muting the curse words. The certification issued to Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur's movie on April 2, 2024, has gained traction on social media.
Further, it states that the duration of the film is approximately 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 20 seconds. The five cuts mentioned include excessive use of liquor labels in one song and five instances of swear words.
