Vijay Deverakonda was the main guest at the pre-release event for Retro, the upcoming romantic action drama starring Kollywood star Suriya. The leading actor marked his presence at the event, which took place in Hyderabad on Saturday night, along with the cast and crew of the movie.

Vijay Deverakonda expressed some strong feelings over the Pahalgam terror tragedy during the pre-release event of the Tamil movie Retro. In response to the tragedy, he urged Indians to 'stand united' and discussed how terrorists are 'brainwashed.'

Vijay Deverakonda added that people shouldn't be confused about Kashmir because it is an essential part of India. There should be no disagreement regarding it. Vijay made a strong remark and was clear in his thinking.

Vijay Deverakonda said in Telugu and English, "The solution to what is happening in Kashmir is also to educate them (terrorists) and ensure they don’t get brainwashed. What will they achieve? Kashmir belongs to India, and Kashmiris are ours. Two years ago, I shot for Kushi in Kashmir. I have such good memories with them."

The actor went on to state that Pakistan can't even look after their own with the lack of proper electricity and water. "What do they want to do here? India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. They behave like tribals did 500 years ago with the way they fight. We should stand united as people and love each other. We always need to move forward as people and stay united. Education is super key. Let’s all be happy and keep our parents happy; only then can we progress," Deverakonda added.

Vijay Deverakonda was mocked for discussing politics at a movie event, but several online users supported his assertion and applauded his 'guts' for speaking out about it.

Meanwhile, the Pahalgam terror incident was the murder of 26 visitors in the Baisaran Valley, often known as Mini Switzerland, by terrorists based on their religious beliefs, including Christianity and Hinduism. The action against terrorists and the Pakistani government was started by the Indian government.The Indus River water pact has been suspended by Indian authorities. Additionally, the Indian government has requested that Pakistani nationals depart the country. In response to India's conduct, the Pakistani government has prohibited India from using its airbase. 

On Vijay Deverokonda's work front, the actor last appeared opposite Mrunal Thakur in the 2024 movie The Family Star. He also had a brief appearance as Arjuna in the Prabhas led Kalki 2898 AD. His current project is Rahul Sankrithyan's Gowtam Tinnanuri's Kingdom, which has not yet been given a title. Retro, starring Suriya, will hit theaters on May 1 and is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
