After much delay, the makers of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s neo-noir action-thriller film Vikram Vedha have finally locked its OTT release date. The film directed by Pushkar, Gayatri released on September 30, 2022.

Vikram Vedha OTT Release Date

After months of delay, Vikram Vedha will reportedly make its OTT debut this week. The film will be streaming exclusively on Jio Cinema’s app. Vikram Vedha will begin streaming on OTT from May 12, 2023. No official confirmation has been made by the makers yet.

Reports indicate that the OTT premiere of Vikram Vedha was pushed due to the ongoing Indian Premier League matches. The platform did not want any clashes in its viewership and thus delayed the premiere of Vikram Vedha.

Vikram Vedha Plot

The plot of the film revolves around Vikram, a pragmatic policeman, and his partner Simon, who are on the hunt to capture Vedha. When Vedha voluntarily surrenders, he offers to tell Vikram a story, throwing Vikram's life into disarray.

Vikram Vedha Cast

The film marks the collaboration between Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan as the titular anti-heroes. Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf and Yogita Bihani also star in supporting roles in Vikram Vedha.

Vikram Vedha Box Office

The film was an official Hindi language remake of the Tamil language film of the same name which released in 2017. Although there was much anticipation and hype around the film, Vikram Vedha failed to meet the expectations of the audiences and critics and did not create any magic at the box-office.

Despite being set on a big budget, the film managed to collect nearly Rs 80 crore at the Indian box-office and was termed as an average hit.

Speaking about the film’s box-office response, Hrithik Roshan said in an interview, “Vikram Vedha was released, and it didn’t fare well at the box office at all. And the feedback that I got was… Of course, there are different parts of me that are conflicted about what I should learn from this, and I think it’ll dawn on me much later, but right now I know that it is not, maybe, something that people like to see me do.”

“Maybe I’m not allowed to do roles where I’m not catering to my fans who want to see me in a certain film, with a certain backdrop, in a certain way. If I choose to do those kinds of films, I have to treat them differently, as in myself — economically, budget-wise, cost-wise,” Hrithik Roshan added.
