New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘War’ has opened with a storm on the first day at the box office. With Rs 53.35 crore earnings on the first day, the film has become the highest opening film in the Hindi cinema. With the benefit of a holiday on the account of Gandhi Jayanti, people went in large numbers to watch the film.

According to trade experts, ‘War’s’ opening collection is of 53.35 crores, with 51.60 crores coming from the Hindi belt and the remaining 1.75 crores from Telugu and Tamil.

The film has demolished Salman Khan's Bharat’s record for India's biggest opening collection in 2019, which was released on Eid and collected 42.30 crores on the first day. Also, it shattered Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan’s first-day earnings record, which collected 50.75 crores on the first day.

Now the list of all-time top 5 opening day collections has changed, which is as follows-

War - 53.35 Crore

Thugs of Hindostan - 50.75 crores

Happy New Year - 44.97 Crore

Bharat - 42.30 crores

Bahubali: The Conclusion - 41 crores

Along with Bollywood films, War has also broken the record of Hollywood film ‘Avengers Endgame’ released this year in Hindi cinema, becoming the biggest opening film. Avengers Endgame collected 53.10 crores on the first day at the Indian box office.

War directed by Siddharth Anand is an action-thriller film, but it also has a strong temper of suspense. This is the reason why Hrithik and Tiger issued a Twitter appeal before the release of the film that viewers should not give any spoilers after watching the film.

Vaani Kapoor played the female lead role alongside Hrithik and Tiger in the film, who returned to the big screen after a long time. Vaani's Hot avatar made this action-thriller film glamorous. War also holds the record for advance booking sale of tickets. According to trade experts, the film has raised more than 25 crores through advance booking.

War has been included in those films of the year 2019, which are expected to make a big blast from day one. Ever since the trailer of this Yash Raj banner film is launched, trade experts started to suggest that War could create new records at the box office and when the film was released, the audience turned these hopes of trade experts into reality.
