Bhoot: Part One (Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and produced by Dharma Productions, the film stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, with Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles, the film delves into a chilling supernatural narrative. The story follows maritime officer Prithvi, portrayed by Kaushal, who is grappling with the loss of his wife in a tragic accident. His investigation into a ghost ship that appears off the Mumbai coast reveals a haunting and cursed vessel tied to his own personal grief. Raat Akeli Hai (Netflix)

Honey Trehan directorial, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, with a supporting cast that includes Shweta Tripathi, Aditya Srivastava, and Nishant Dahiya, centers around a murder that occurs during a high-profile wedding in a small town. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays Inspector Jatil Yadav, who is called to investigate the case. As he delves into the investigation, he uncovers a web of secrets and hidden motives within the bride’s influential family. The film combines elements of mystery and psychological drama, exploring themes of power, corruption, and familial deceit.

Bulbbul (Netflix)

Set in 1880s Bengal, the film stars Tripti Dimri in the titular role, alongside an ensemble cast including Avinash Tiwary, Rahul Bose, and Paoli Dam. The story revolves around Bulbbul, a young bride whose life takes a dark turn when a series of mysterious and violent incidents plague her family. Directed by Anvita Dutt and produced by Karnesh Ssharma under the Clean Slate Filmz banner, the narrative unfolds, Bulbbul’s past and the sinister events that led to her current predicament, blending folklore with supernatural elements.

1920: Horrors of the Heart (Hotstar)

Directed by Krishna Bhatt and produced by Vikram Bhatt, Raj Kishor Khaware, Rakesh Juneja, and Shwetambari Bhatt, with the screenplay written by Mahesh Bhatt. As the fifth installment in the 1920 film series, the movie features Avika Gor and Rahul Dev in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Barkha Bisht, Randheer Rai, Danish Pandor, Ketaki Kulkarni, Avtar Gill, and Amit Behl.

Pari (Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Prosit Roy and produced by Anushka Sharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz. The film stars Anushka Sharma, who also co-produced the film, alongside Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajat Kapoor. The story follows a young woman named Rukhsana, played by Anushka Sharma, who is found in a disturbing state after a series of bizarre and horrific events. As the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that Rukhsana is entangled in a sinister supernatural force with origins tied to ancient folklore and dark rituals.

Shaitaan (Netflix)

A remake of the 2023 Gujarati film Vash, it features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Anngad Raaj, and Janki Bodiwala, who reprises her role from the original. Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios, the plot centers on a family that faces grave danger when their daughter falls under the influence of black magic cast by a mysterious stranger. The family’s quest to save her and unravel the stranger's motives drives the narrative.

Released on March 8, 2024, to coincide with Maha Shivaratri, Shaitaan garnered positive reviews and achieved significant commercial success. With a global gross exceeding ₹211.06 crore against an estimated budget of ₹60–65 crore, it has become the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, and the highest-grossing Indian horror film of all time.

Chhorii (Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Vishal Furia, the film stars Nushrratt Bharuccha in a pivotal role, supported by Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, and Saurabh Goyal. A remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi, it follows the story of Sakshi, a pregnant woman who moves to a remote village with her husband for a fresh start. They settle into an old, eerie house with a dark history, leading to unsettling supernatural occurrences. As Sakshi encounters increasing terror, she discovers the house’s horrifying past and its connection to local legends.

The Girl on the Train (Netflix)

Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the thriller is based on Paula Hawkins' bestselling novel. Starring Parineeti Chopra, the film follows Mira Kapoor, a troubled woman whose daily train journey leads her into a tangled mystery. Mira becomes entangled in the disappearance of a woman she glimpses from her train window, uncovering dark secrets and confronting her own past. The film blends psychological thriller elements with suspense, focusing on themes of obsession, betrayal, and redemption.
