On Thursday, the film fraternity arrived at the Jio World Convention Centre In Mumbai. Several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Chiranjeevi, Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were spotted at the event which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. South megastar Rajinikanth also arrived at the venue. Other notable guests from the industry include Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Saif Ali Khan and Hema Malini.

Deepika Padukone took to her Instagram handle and uploaded a series of photos in a beige-coloured ethnic wear. She paired her kurti and pyjama set with a dupatta and chose a pair of statement earrings which matched well with the outfit. On Wednesday, Priyanka Chopra also shared a video on her Instagram handle in which she talked about the importance of Waves Summit in India. Priyanka said, “Hello everyone. I wanted to take a moment to talk about something truly historic that’s happening right now. For the first time ever, India's hosting the World Audio, Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai from May 1st to the May 4th. Now this isn't just another conference. WAVES is India's bold step onto the world stage, a signal that our creative economy is not just thriving but ready to lead.”

About the summit: The summit aims to showcase India's spiritual legacy while supporting the creator economy. It is organised by the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” reads the tagline. According to PMO, WAVES 2025 will host participants from over 90 countries, including more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies and 350+ startups. It will feature 42 plenary sessions, 39 breakout sessions, and 32 masterclasses.
