Weverse Magazine has come under the radar of ARMY for criticising BTS's Jimin and Suga, among other K-Pop singers, in a new piece on a controversial article. Weverse Magazine published a fresh piece about country singer Morgan Wallen on May 25. While the piece initially sparked outrage since it was about the controversial artist Morgan Wallen, many were also outraged because it appeared to disparage BTS's Jimin and Suga.
The article downplayed Jimin's solo achievements and wrote, "At least Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Jimin have had some partial success in breaking up his domination of the Hot 100.” While it displayed Jimin's success on the charts, the phrase "Partial" success was used to minimise his accomplishments.
The Weverse Magazine also shaded BTS member Suga, HYBE artists SEVENTEEN and LE SSERAFIM, and also JYP Entertainment’s TWICE. The article read, "TWICE, Agust D, SEVENTEEN and LE SSERAFIM have all jockeyed for the first place but no one has been able to topple One Thing at a Time from its pedestal. At any other time, those K-pop albums would have ridden right to the top on the back of their sales, but Wallen's have been even higher."
Soon after the article went viral on social media, ARMY headed to the Twitter handle and expressed their anger against the publication.
Dedicating an entire article to a disgusting racist while minimising JM’s huge achievements, one of which is being the first Korean/K-Pop soloist in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, is simply outrageous. Like I’m at a loss for words rn https://t.co/MQmDZMdo28

If someone who didn't know what was the source of this article read this, they would surely think that Morgan was a Hybe artist and "Agust D and Jimin" were his competitors. What's the point? Why are they kissing up to this racist guy as if they wanted to sign him? https://t.co/QKZWbPnuNf pic.twitter.com/dqZDShfoNk
