Poonam Pandey, who marked her Bollywood debut with the 2013 film 'Nasha,' is alive and well. The news of her 'death' was initially announced in a post shared on her official Instagram handle on Friday, February 2. The confirmation of the news came through a statement which read, "This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared." Her most recent appearance was on the reality show 'Lock Upp.'
Beyond her contributions to the entertainment industry, Poonam Pandey is recognised as a multifaceted personality with a vibrant presence on various social media platforms. She became a controversial figure when she promised to strip naked if the Indian cricket team won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. While she didn't fulfill that promise directly, it garnered significant media coverage.

She made her debut with the film 'Nasha' in 2013, an erotic thriller in which she played the lead role. The film, directed by Amit Saxena, explored the theme of adolescent attraction and infatuation. Poonam featured in 'Aa Gaya Hero' alongside Govida, Ashutosh Rana, Makarand Deshpande, Chandrachur Singh and Murli Sharma. She even acted in the Telugu film 'Malini & Co'.

Poonam Pandey was previously married to Sam Bombay, whom she later accused of alleged domestic violence. They had a low-key wedding ceremony in Mumbai on September 10, 2020. Before this, Sam was previously married to model Elle Ahmed. With Elle, Sam is the father of two children – son Troy Bombay and daughter Tia Bombay.
Sam Bombay faced arrest by the Mumbai police following accusations of physical assault made by Poonam. Reportedly, she sustained injuries to her head, eyes, and face, leading to her hospitalisation. The couple was in Goa when Poonam filed complaints of sexual assault, molestation, and domestic violence. Despite the legal proceedings, they reunited after Sam obtained bail. Poonam commented on the situation, stating, "Which marriage does not have its ups and downs." She emphasised that the incidents were blown out of proportion, and both are actively working on resolving their differences.
