Border 2: Varun Dhawan has finally reacted to the online criticism he received after the release of Ghar Kab Aaoge, a song from his upcoming film Border 2. The actor, who plays a key role in the highly anticipated war drama, gave a calm yet confident response to the trolls questioning his performance. Despite the mixed reactions on social media, Varun remains unfazed and focused on promoting the film.
Why Varun Dhawan Was Trolled Online?
Soon after Ghar Kab Aaoge was released, a section of netizens took to social media to criticise Varun Dhawan’s expressions and acting in the emotional track. Some users questioned whether he was the right choice for the role, while others compared his performance to that of actors from the original Border (1997). During an interaction, a user asked Varun, “Bhai aapki acting pe sawal utha rahe hai log, uske liye kya bologe.” The actor responded confidently, shutting down the negativity with a positive outlook. Varun replied, “Yehi sawaal ne gaana hit karadi, sab enjoy kar rahe hain, rab di mehar.” His response quickly went viral, with many fans praising him for handling criticism gracefully.
Varun Dhawan’s Role In Border 2
In Border 2, Varun Dhawan essays the role of Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a brave Indian Army officer who led his troops during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Colonel Dahiya was honoured with the Param Vir Chakra for his exceptional courage and leadership.
Meanwhile, Producer Nidhi Dutta, daughter of veteran filmmaker J.P. Dutta, strongly condemned the trolling directed at Varun Dhawan. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she reshared a post alleging a paid smear campaign against the actor. Nidhi wrote, “Congratulations to all the ANTI NATIONALS THAT CAN PAY TO BRING DOWN AN ACTOR PLAYING A PVC OF THIS COUNTRY. This is YOUR FILM INDIA! Hope the audiences find and shame these people." Reports suggested that certain influencers were allegedly paid to spread negative narratives, including body shaming and pre-planned criticism.
