Yami Gautam, recently expressed her desire for Article 370 to be re-released in theatres. The actress also took some of her favourite films which she wants to be released in again in the big screens. She also shared that she didn’t get the chance to watch the Article 370 with the audience. During the time of the film’s release in 2024, Yami was expecting her first child, which is why she could not see it with a live audience. Notably, the movie was highly appreciated by the audience and the critics. It had a box office collection of Rs 77.98 crore in India and Rs 105.01 crore worldwide. It also starred Priyamani and Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil in key roles. It is streaming on Netflix.
In an interview with IANS, Yami Gautam said “That’s a question for the audience! But personally, I would love to see Uri or Vicky Donor on the big screen again. Also, Bala, A Thursday, and Article 370—especially Article 370 because I didn’t get the chance to watch it with an audience. I was expecting my baby at the time, so that’s one film I would love to experience in a theater setting. I know I’ve given multiple names, but each has a special reason.”
While talking about what her approach is to choose a script, Yami added, “I rely on my instincts. I make a conscious effort not to get too comfortable with what I’ve previously done or what I consider my strengths. I don’t overanalyze. The first feeling I get after reading a script—whether it excites me or challenges me—guides my decision. I strive to be as versatile as possible and stay true to my choices. There is always a deliberate effort behind making something appear effortless. It’s about consistently working in a certain direction and taking on roles that push my boundaries.”
Over the years, Yami Gautam has worked in movies like Article 370, Kaabil, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, OMG 2, Vicky Donor, Dhoom Dhaam, Ginny Weds Sunny, A Thursday, Dasvi, Badlapur, Bala, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Junooniyat and Lost to name a few.
On the personal front, Yami and filmmaker Aditya Dhar welcomed their son, Vedavid in May 2024.
