Homebound selected for Cannes 2025: The much-awaited Cannes Film Festival is around the corner. Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan's movie Homebound, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, has been selected for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. On Thursday, Cannes unveiled its official selection lineup for 2025 where the announcement was made. The film has been selected in a category known for presenting artistic cinema from across the world. This is not the first time that Neeraj Ghaywan’s movie is being screened at Cannes. Earlier, his film Masaan, starring Vicky Kaushal, was also screened at Cannes and won awards in the same category back in 2015.

Ishaan Khatter took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “We’re ‘HOMEBOUND’ to Cannes baby. A film that I knew was special from the moment it entered my life and my most challenging part yet. This is what dreams are made of. Pure intention, grit, compassion and truth. One of the proudest moments of my cinematic journey thus far.”

Janhvi Kapoor wrote on Instagram, “A moment where Indian cinema takes over the world.We are honoured to announce that #Homebound makes its way to the official selection at the 78th edition of the Festival De Cannes in the 'Un Certain Regard' category.Our hearts are full and we can't wait to show you all this journey on the big screens!”

About the movie: Homebound has been written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. It has been produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.
