Ever since Kartik Aaryan announced his next rom-com, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera, excitement has surged on social media. The makers haven’t announced the full cast yet, but reports suggest that the lead cast of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani may join the movie. The YJHD stars will reportedly make a special appearance in Kartik Aaryan's film.
A source quoted by Mid-Day stated, “Since this film is a rom-com and resembles YJHD, this move seems like a natural progression. They are contemplating roping in the original stars for special appearances. Even if all of them aren’t available, they will try to get two of them to be part of it. These cameos will be a delightful nod to the beloved film. Apart from matching the actors’ dates, their introduction into the film needs to be seamless, not forced. That will be addressed during the writing process.”
Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin, was re-released in theaters on January 3. If reports are to be believed, Ranbir, Deepika, Aditya and Kalki will reprise their iconic characters in Sameer Vidwans directorial.
About Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera
The film is being directed by Sameer Vidwans, who helmed Satya Prem Ki Katha, and is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures. The film is set to hit theaters worldwide in 2026.
The movie has generated headlines for several reasons, mainly due to the reunion of Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar. This comes after reports of a fallout between the two in 2022, when Dharma Productions announced a recasting for Dostana 2, a movie that initially featured Kartik and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. However, neither of the two commented on these reports.
Apart from Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera, Kartik and Karan are also collaborating on a war drama, directed by Sandeep Modi. However, there’s no update on the film yet.
