The popular actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently in the news due to her recent marriage to Vijay Deverakonda, has found herself at the centre of a social media controversy, and this time around, the actress is hitting back hard. On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the actress was seen venting out her fury on social media due to the recent leak of an intimate audio chat that was from almost eight years ago. The actress posted on Instagram story and X (formerly Twitter), stating that she would no longer tolerate the invasion of her privacy.

Rashmika Mandanna To Take Legal Action Over 8- Year-Old Leaked Audio

The controversy has arisen from a recent audio clip circulating on social media, purportedly containing a private conversation between Rashmika and others from her early days in the industry. According to reports, the audio clip includes a conversation about Rashmika’s past relationships and family. This includes comments on Rashmika’s mother and past fiancé.

However, Rashmika has stated, “The audio clip circulating on social media was recorded and shared without my knowledge and consent. Influencers are taking small pieces from a conversation from nearly a decade ago and sharing them out of context to create fake hate stories.”

A Decade-Long Campaign Of Misinformation

In her detailed statement, Rashmika revealed that she has been a victim of a sustained campaign of harassment and deliberate attacks over the past eight years. Rashmika stated that she has always preferred to keep quiet and maintain peace in such situations.

However, she revealed that the latest campaign of spreading false narratives is now impacting her family and loved ones. Rashmika stated that technology and social media are being misused to spread false narratives. Rashmika has been a victim of online bullying throughout her career.

Legal Consequences To Influencers And Media Outlets

Taking a stand for her personality rights, Rashmika has given a 24-hour ultimatum to digital media and people to remove the defamatory content. Rashmika has warned them that if the videos are not removed, she will take legal action by issuing notices to some of these influencers and media houses.

Rashmika, with the help and support of her fans and the industry, has also clarified that her personal decisions are hers and hers alone, and she would fight for her dignity against people who are making money out of her pain.
