The investigation into the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg has taken a major turn. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they are aware of the false information circulating online regarding singer's death. The SPF has claimed that no foul play has been suspected in Zubeen Garg's death. This probe is expected to reach its conclusion in approximately three months. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be formally submitted to the State Coroner in Singapore.
Following the submission of the investigation report, the State Coroner will review the evidence and determine whether a Coroner's Inquiry is necessary. A Coroner's Inquiry is a judicial process aimed at establishing the cause and circumstances of a person's death. Led by a Coroner, who is a Judicial Officer of the Courts, this inquiry plays a crucial role in shedding light on the events leading to the death.
One key aspect of a Coroner's Inquiry is that its findings are made public upon conclusion, ensuring transparency and accountability. This public disclosure allows for a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding the death and can help in preventing similar incidents in the future.
