A team from the Gurugram Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a police constable posted at the Sector 29 police station for extortion. The accused, identified as Constable Yashpal, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 under the pretext of enforcing the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
The Allegation
A spokesperson for the Gurugram ACB stated that a complainant approached them on Tuesday regarding the incident. The complainant reported that construction work was underway at their residence when Constable Yashpal arrived at the site. The constable threatened to halt the construction work, citing GRAP restrictions, and demanded Rs 15,000 in return for allowing the work to continue.
