Three men have been arrested for allegedly bludgeoning a fellow labourer to death with bricks and stones following a dispute that erupted during a drinking session in the slums of Sector 99. The police arrested all three accused on Tuesday evening.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Hira Kumar, a native of Madhepura district in Bihar, who lived with his family in Sector 99 and worked for a private company.
The incident occurred on Monday night at approximately 9 pm. According to police, Hira Kumar was drinking with his co-workers: Sanjay Das, Prasoonjit, and Hamidul Rahman. An argument broke out between Hira and Hamidul over a bicycle. The dispute escalated, and the three men allegedly attacked Hira, first with kicks and punches, and then by striking him with bricks and stones.
When Hira's family members rushed to the scene, the accused fled. The injured labourer was taken by his family to a private hospital on Basai Road, from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for further treatment. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning.
