On the night of Diwali, several fire incidents amidst fireworks shook the city of Gurugram.
The most severe incident was reported in Rathiwas village near Bilaspur, where a massive fire broke out in a four-acre warehouse storing old air conditioners and refrigerators. Within moments, the sounds of explosions began as more than one hundred compressors exploded, terrifying the area and causing panic among residents. The warehouse stored plastic and rubber parts from old air conditioners, refrigerators, cars, and two-wheelers.
The fire was reported at 7:25 pm on Monday, prompting a response from more than 15 fire engines from Gurugram and Rewari. Lalit Verma, FSO of the Manesar fire station, stated that the warehouse, which was used for scrapping operations, had been closed for two days. The fire was so intense that the warehouse shed collapsed, and JCB machines were required to clear the debris. Efforts to control the blaze continued for approximately 15 hours. A short circuit or a spark from fireworks is being considered the probable cause in the preliminary investigation.
Another major fire broke out at 2:30 am on Diwali night in a three-storey photo frame shop in the Shivpuri area of Gurugram. The fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to the first and third floors. Seven fire engines from the Bhimnagar, Sector 29, Sector 37, and Udyog Vihar stations responded. The blaze was brought under control after approximately two hours of intense effort. FSO Narendra Singh stated that all the stock in the shop was completely gutted.
Several other fire incidents were also reported from different parts of the city:
- A fire broke out at Vatika Tent House in Sector 31, which was controlled by the Sector 29 fire station.
- At 8 pm, a fire started in a shoe and sandal warehouse in Sector 28.
- A house in Sector 47 and a car in Sector 49 caught fire.

- A late-night fire in the shanties (jhuggis) of the Chakarpur area reduced more than five of them to ashes.

These included a paint shop at Kadipur Chowk, a house in GarhiHarsaru, and shops in KherkiDaula, Shivaji Nagar, and on Railway Road, where goods were destroyed.
