As part of the Smart City Project, 70 video-based emergency call points are being installed throughout Cyber City to enhance public safety. This initiative, a collaboration between the Gurugram Traffic Police and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), will allow people to seek immediate assistance during an emergency by making a video call.
A successful trial of the system was conducted by DCP Traffic Dr Rajesh Mohan at the Traffic Tower on Wednesday.
Once operational, these points will be linked to the Dial 112 emergency service and will have a direct connection to the control room at the Police Commissioner's office, as well as the relevant local police station, enabling police to provide continuous, 24-hour assistance.
DCP Dr Rajesh Mohan stated that beacon lights will be installed on the points to ensure they are easily visible from a distance. In an emergency, a person can press the button on the device to instantly initiate a video call and register their complaint with the control room.

He explained that the installation of these points will serve a dual purpose: they will not only help police in curbing criminal elements but will also be equipped to make public announcements to assist the general public.
