Since the implementation of GRAP-3 on November 12, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has issued penalties to 199 violators, imposing a total fine of Rs 27,51,500 for activities contributing to air pollution. Officials said monitoring will be intensified in the coming days, with strict action continuing against those flouting the rules.

According to the MCG, penalties were issued across multiple categories, including 10 cases of burning waste and coal, 64 instances of construction activity despite the ban, 12 cases of illegal dumping of construction and demolition waste, and 113 cases of littering.

Officials added that 18 mechanised machines are deployed for night-time road cleaning, and tankers are regularly sprinkling treated water to prevent dust from rising.

Continuous monitoring is being carried out at construction sites, waste-dumping points, and market areas to ensure compliance with the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-3) guidelines issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management.

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the corporation is committed to maintaining a clean and pollution-free environment. He appealed to residents not to burn waste, avoid leaving construction material uncovered, and ensure proper disposal of garbage only at designated locations. He emphasised that public cooperation is essential to making Gurugram cleaner and reducing pollution levels.
