The Street Vending Management Team of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram conducted a drive on Monday to remove encroachments in the Palam Vihar area. The team cleared illegal encroachments from around the market and main roads and took several steps to ensure smooth passage on public thoroughfares.
During the operation, the team removed handcarts (rehriyan), pavement stalls (patri), kiosks (khokhe), roadside eateries (dhabas), and other types of temporary encroachments from roadsides and footpaths. Goods illegally displayed in public spaces by several shopkeepers and vendors were also immediately removed.

The corporation team confiscated tarpaulins, wooden structures, stalls, handcarts, and other materials that had been set up in violation of the rules. During the drive, officials stated that illegal encroachments in the Palam Vihar area were causing inconvenience to pedestrians and obstructing traffic.
According to the corporation, such action will continue regularly in the future to ensure smooth traffic flow and a clean environment in the city.

The Municipal Corporation has warned against any form of illegal encroachment on public spaces, stating that strict action will be taken against violators.
