The National IED Data Management System (NIDMS) has been added to the country's security shield against terrorism. It has been launched at the National Bomb Data Centre within the NSG's Manesar Training Centre. It was virtually inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The NIDMS has been developed by the National Security Guard (NSG) as a step in this direction. It is a secure, national-level digital platform.

How NIDMS Works: Analysis And Real-Time Sharing

Through this centre, information on IED explosions occurring anywhere across the country will be collected. After analysis, it will be shared with all state and central security agencies. The analysis will reveal the type of IED used and its location, as well as its capacity. It will also determine the level of rescue work required post-explosion and the procedure for defusing an IED if information is received. Analysis will make it easier to identify links between incidents, meaning it will be much easier to understand the explosions. Its main objective is the systematic collection, compilation, and dissemination of data related to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Information will be available in real-time.

Amit Shah: NSG Is A Strong Pillar Of Security

Addressing the ceremony, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the National IED Data Management System will be another strong shield for the country's security. The centre will enable scientific evidence to be presented more effectively. Internal coordination among agencies will also improve. This will help to weaken the roots of terrorism more rapidly. This centre will function as a 'One Nation, One Data Territory'. This will not only speed up investigations but also enable quality-based probes.

Combating The IED Threat Since 1999

IEDs are a major security challenge in many parts of the country and are often used by terrorists to target civilians. Data on every explosion that has occurred anywhere from 1999 to the present is available at the National Bomb Data Centre. This has significantly helped in strengthening security. With the launch of the NIDMS, the country's security shield will be further strengthened. In the last six years, various types of security-related data have been collected, which is proving beneficial. Since the Narendra Modi government came to power, robust work has been undertaken on security.

NSG: A Zero-Terror Force Active 24 By 7

The NSG is a strong pillar of the country's security. The NSG has become known as a zero-terror force. Due to its proactiveness against terrorism, the people of the country are sleeping peacefully. The NSG provides a strong response to terrorism anywhere. The NSG is capable of facing every challenge. Whenever given the opportunity, the NSG has performed excellently. By analysing terrorist incidents, the NSG has enhanced its expertise. Continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the country's security shield. As part of these efforts, NSG centres have been established in several places, including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Ayodhya. This has significantly strengthened the country's security. An NSG team can reach anywhere in the country within one to one and a half hours. The NSG is active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The country is benefiting from this.

Dignitaries Present At The Launch

NSG Director General B Srinivasan was present at the inauguration. The Directors General of Police of all states and the Directors General of central security forces joined the ceremony virtually.
