In a major breakthrough, a suspect involved in a massive bank robbery in Hisar, Haryana, was arrested during a raid in Chaurgaon, under the Asarganj police station area. Additionally, police apprehended two more criminals from Sanhaula in the Bhagalpur district and West Bengal. A total of three suspects have been arrested so far in connection with this case.
The arrested individuals were brought to the Asarganj Community Health Center, where Dr Manas conducted their medical examinations. Following the check-up, they were handed over to the Haryana Police and taken away after being produced in court.
The Incident: Daylight Robbery In Hisar
On January 12, 2026, a daring daylight robbery took place at the Haryana Gramin Bank, located within the Agrawal police station limits of Hisar district. Approximately half a dozen armed miscreants stormed the bank and looted Rs 27,92,000 at gunpoint. Since the incident, the Haryana Police had been conducting continuous raids across various states to track down the culprits.
Coordinated Raids And Arrests
Acting on intelligence, the Haryana Police conducted a raid on the night of January 23 in Chaurgaon, Asarganj and arrested Kundan Kumar, son of Dharnidhar Bind. Furthermore, Gautam Kumar, son of Shukra Mahto, resident of Maheshpur village in Bhagalpur’s Sanhaula area, and Suraj Kumar, son of Bharat Mistri from Shivdanga in West Bengal's Burdwan district, were also taken into custody. These arrests are considered a significant milestone in linking the various threads of the robbery case.
Interstate Gang Exposed
Regarding the case, PSI Pradeep Kumar of the Haryana Police stated that the search for other criminals involved in the heist is ongoing. He noted that interrogation of the arrested suspects has yielded vital clues, and the entire gang will be dismantled soon.
He further revealed that this interstate gang had been involved in bank robberies and similar crimes for a long time. Meanwhile, the swift action in the Asarganj area has sparked discussions among locals regarding police alertness. The police have clarified that the campaign against criminals will continue and no offenders will be spared under any circumstances.
