Haryana is set to have its 23rd district. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that Hansi would be made a district. The CM made this declaration during a rally held in Hansi, stating that the official notification regarding the creation of the district would be issued within seven days.
This decision fulfills a demand that has persisted for 12 years. The call to make Hansi a district was first raised in June 2013, with the 'Hansi Zila Banao Sangharsh Samiti' (Hansi District Formation Struggle Committee) vigorously advocating for the cause.
The Chief Minister's announcement is expected to streamline administrative and developmental work in the state. The government's objective in creating new districts is to provide greater convenience to local residents.

According to sources, villages from Hansi, Narnaund, and BawaniKhera may be included in the new district. It is worth noting that a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee was held in Chandigarh on December 10, where the issue was discussed. Hansi MLA Vinod Bhayana attended the meeting and supported the proposal to grant Hansi full district status.
