Haryana: Hockey Coach Arrested For Raping, Impregnating Class 12 Girl In Stadium Bathroom

Haryana: A 17-year-old girl from Rewari district has accused her junior hockey coach of raping and impregnating her. The coach has been arrested in connection with the alleged crime. The victim, a student in Class 12, filed a complaint at the Khol police station on January 9, claiming that the incident took place about four months ago.

According to the minor girl, the coach, whom she had known for three years, assaulted her in a stadium bathroom where she trained. She later discovered she was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage on January 5, requiring hospitalisation due to her poor health. She was admitted to a hospital by her family after her health deteriorated.

Following the girl's report, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alongside other relevant legal provisions.

“We have arrested the accused. After producing him in a city court we have taken him on two days of police remand and are questioning him," Rewari police official said.
