The public will soon have a new opportunity to acquire affordable housing in Sohna and Rewari, as the Town and Country Planning Department has issued licences to builders for four new residential schemes. The projects, which will include around 3,500 flats, are expected to begin once technical glitches in the e-draw portal are resolved within the next fifteen days.
According to government-set rates, flats will be priced at Rs 4,500 per square foot, with two- to three-BHK units ranging between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 35 lakh. The application process will be fully online, requiring an initial five per cent deposit, 20 per cent within one month of allocation, and the remaining amount payable in instalments over four years. Construction of the flats is expected to be completed within this period.

The portal improvements follow irregularities in a previous draw for the Aster Avenue society in Sohna, where approximately 51,000 applicants competed for only 700 flats, but the draw was conducted among just 2,200 participants.
The department subsequently cancelled the draw and issued new allocation letters. A related petition is still pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Renuka Singh, Senior Town Planner at the department, stated, “The e-draw portal is being rectified. There will be no irregularities in the draw. Builders have taken licences to launch four affordable housing projects in Sohna and Rewari. The flats for these projects will be listed on the portal once it is fixed.”
