Residents in multiple areas, including Sectors 4 and 9, will face intermittent power cuts throughout the day today, Wednesday, October 8. The disruption is necessary for construction work being carried out by the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam. Normal power supply is expected to be fully restored after 8:00 pm tonight.

Reason For Shutdown

The power outage is required to ensure safety during the construction of a new 66 kV tower on the power line connecting the Daulatabad 220 kV sub-station to the 66 kV sub-stations of Sector 4 and Sector 9. Consequently, the power supply to these two sub-stations will be shut down for the duration of the work.

Affected Areas

The power cuts will impact the following areas:

  • Sector 4
  • Sector 7
  • Sector 7 Extension
  • Sector 9
  • New Colony
  • Laxman Vihar
  • Surya Vihar
  • Krishna Colony
  • Devilal Nagar
  • Jyotipark
  • Madanpuri
  • Baldev Nagar
  • Ravi Nagar
  • Manohar Nagar
  • Feroz Gandhi Colony 1 and 2 and their adjoining areas.

Alternative Arrangements And Impact

A spokesperson for the Electricity Corporation stated that an alternative plan has been put in place to supply power from the Sector 10 power house. However, as one sub-station cannot manage the entire load of the two affected sub-stations, power will be supplied to all feeders in turns. This will result in intermittent power cuts for all residents in the listed areas until the work is completed.
