The Sohna Municipal Council is set to modernise eight roads across the city by developing them into model roads. The project is set to be constructed under a budget of Rs 15 crore, with a blueprint for this having been prepared.
The council has appointed a consultant to finalise the plan, which will be finalised after the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is prepared. After the project is completed, the city's roads will be gleaming.
These eight model roads will be equipped with facilities such as drains, a drainage system, and footpaths. Additionally, all model roads will be fitted with lighting. The length of these model roads has been set at approximately 5 kilometres.
The eight roads that the Municipal Council will develop as model roads include Chungi No. 1 to Nangli Mod, Nangli Mod to Bandh Road, Nangli Mod to Fawwara Chowk, Fawwara Chowk to Shiv Kund, Fawwara Chowk to Labour Chowk, Labour Chowk to Agrasen Park, and Labour Chowk to the City Police Station.
Additionally, the approximately 5-kilometre-long Baluda Road, which leads to Baluda village, will also be developed as a model road. A cycle track will be constructed.

The Municipal Council will construct a cycle track from Toll No. 1 to Bandh Road. The model roads are set to be vehicle-free, with the residents to travel across the area by golf carts. Only residents living in the internal areas will be allowed to drive their vehicles.
The Council's Executive Engineer, Ajay Panghal, said, “A plan has been prepared to develop eight roads as model roads. The council has also appointed a consultant to expedite the project. All model roads will be paved with tiles."
Work on this scheme will begin in the new year. After the construction of the model roads, the city will look beautiful, and tourists will flock to these streets. This will also boost trade. It will become easier for city residents to walk. The absence of traffic on such roads will also reduce pollution,” Panghal added.
