Air India and Airbus have jointly established a state-of-the-art pilot training centre at the Air India Aviation Training Academy in Gurugram, designed to train over 5,000 new pilots.

The facility was inaugurated on Tuesday by Union Aviation Minister KinjarapuRammohan Naidu. He was accompanied by key industry leaders, including Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, and Campbell Wilson, Managing Director and CEO of Air India. Other dignitaries from the Tata Group, Air India, and Airbus were also present at the ceremony.

Spanning 12,000 square metres, the advanced training centre will feature 10 full-flight simulators, along with modern classrooms and briefing rooms. The facility will focus on training pilots for the Airbus A320 and A350 aircraft families, following a specially developed curriculum that adheres to the highest global standards.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Union Minister confirmed the event, writing, "Had the honour of inaugurating the Air India–Airbus Pilot Training Centre at Air India’s Aviation Training Academy alongside Airbus Board Chairman, Mr Rene Obermann and Air India CEO, Mr Campbell Wilson."
