A 12-year-old Dalit boy was reportedly stripped, made to dance, and recorded after being accused of stealing wire at an event. Kota Police said on Saturday, as reported by PTI.

A video allegedly showing the boy dancing to a song while four to five men sat around him appeared on the internet. In the video, the men were urging the boy to dance while smiling. The issue was brought to attention when police authorities discovered the video and found the victim's whereabouts. Police stated that they urged his relatives to submit a complaint.

According to the victim's father's complaint, his son went to a comedy show on Friday evening, held at a fair in GAD Circle. Somewhere between 1 am and 4 am, about four to five men confronted his son. He was accused of theft of a wire and physically attacked.

According to reports, following the complaint, the Kota police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against six individuals.

Six people, including a father-son duo, were arrested in the case. The accused were identified as Kshitij Gurjar (24) alias Bittu, Ashish Upadhyay alias Vikku (52), his son Yayati Upadhyay (24) alias Gungun, Gourav Soni (21), Sandeep Singh (30) alias Rahul Bannasha, and Sumit Kumar Sain (25), according to the FIR.

In the initial stages of the investigation, police discovered that the six individuals being accused were affiliated with a music company and believed that the victim had stolen wiring from their music equipment, according to DSP Manis
