2 Terrorists Killed By Security Forces During Infiltration Bid In Jammu And Kashmir's Kupwara

Kupwara Encounter: The security forces foiled an infiltration attempt on Monday in the Machhal (Kupwara) sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir, resulting in the killing of two terrorists.

The incident occurred in the Kamkadi area of the region. Jagran sources stated that soldiers patrolling the LoC observed some armed elements entering Indian territory from occupied Jammu and Kashmir at around 7 pm. The soldiers immediately alerted nearby posts and strengthened their positions. As the group of infiltrators began crossing the LoC, the soldiers challenged them. The infiltrators attempted to flee and opened fire to distract the soldiers. Indian soldiers retaliated.

According to sources, intermittent firing between the two sides continued for about 40 minutes. When the firing from the terrorists stopped, the soldiers also ceased their fire.

The jawans launched a search operation in the area where the firing took place. The firing continued late into the night.
