On the occasion of the 76th Army Day, Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pandey, extended warm wishes and felicitations to all ranks of the Indian Army, civilian employees, veterans, and their families. In a solemn address to the troops, General Pandey paid homage to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.

"On the occasion of Army Day 2024, I convey my felicitations and warm wishes to all ranks of the Indian Army, civilian employees, Veterans, and their families. We solemnly remember and pay homage to our comrades who have laid down their lives in service of the nation. Their supreme sacrifice shall always inspire us," he said.

He highlighted the vital role of the Indian Army in ensuring a stable and secure environment for the nation's progress. General Pandey urged the 'Olive Green' fraternity to maintain an unwavering commitment to countering security threats.

The Chief of Army Staff declared the year 2024 as the 'Year of Technology Absorption,' highlighting the Army's focus on leveraging technology for transformative change. General Pandey acknowledged the evolving nature of warfare and highlighted the ongoing holistic transformation process initiated the previous year. He outlined the progress made and the commitment to Atmanirbharta in capability development endeavors.

"The character of warfare continues to change. To prepare ourselves for the future, we set into motion a holistic transformation process last year. We have made good progress and many milestones have been achieved. Our capability development endeavors stand on the edifice of Atmanirbharta, to which we are firmly committed. The transition towards becoming a modern, agile, adaptive, and technology-enabled future-ready force shall continue as part of the Transformation Roadmap," General Manoj Pande said.

He outlined the Army's responsibility towards veterans, Veer Naris, and their families, highlighting the commitment to welfare initiatives and proactive outreach. He stressed the importance of commanders at all levels proactively addressing grievances and focusing on welfare initiatives for the retired members of the armed forces.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu also extended their wishes on the occasion of 76th Army Day.

Expressing confidence in the Indian Army's distinct stature in the national mind space, General Pandey concluded by urging a rededication to the service of the nation, aligning with the core ethos of 'Naam,' 'Namak,' and 'Nishaan.'
