The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to challenge the MCD standing committee poll in the Supreme Court said Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. The senior AAP leader also called the election "unconstitutional, illegal, and undemocratic".
The election for the last vacant seat of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's 18-member Standing Committee took place on Friday. The BJP won the seat unopposed as the AAP and Congress boycotted the election.
Atishi, during a press conference, challenged the BJP to dissolve the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and hold elections against the AAP to determine the preferred candidate for the civic body.

She alleged that the elections were held "misusing" the powers of the lieutenant governor and the officers.
According to the chief minister, the rules only permit the mayor to set the time and location of the MCD House meeting and to preside over it.
Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Friday also addressed a press conference and crticised the LG VK Saxena's directive to hold election for the lone vacancy in the standing committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
"Yesterday, the Mayor (Shelly Oberoi) kept trying to conduct an election for the seat of standing committee of Nagar Nigam but it could not be done. Then, using her power, she set another date for elections and assembly of the House. Later in the day, LG passed an order to the MCD Commissioner to hold elections by 10 pm last night. The whole night the BJP councillors were present there, while AAP and Congress councillors were absent," Manish Sisodia said.
Targeting the Delhi LG's order on conducting the MCD election in Delhi, he said the same was done in the Chandigarh mayoral elections.
"Now, they want to conduct the election by 1 pm under the additional commissioner of MCD...What Massey did in the Chandigarh mayoral elections, the same is being done by the MCD commissioner Ahwini Kumar here. MCD Commissioner is the modern Massey. How can an elected house be called under the leadership of an administrative official? This is why it is said that BJP doesn't respect the Constitution. They have made a joke of democracy...." he said.
