Apart from Mumbai, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Dhule Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Akola, Amravati, and Buldhana districts. IMD has forecast 'moderate rains' for Mumbai as it recorded 28.7 degrees Celsius temperature at 10 am with 7 per cent humidity.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted a cloudy sky with moderate rain for today and tomorrow, while wet spells are likely in the city over the next five days. The maximum temperature today is likely to reach 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will settle around 24 degrees.
On September 29, the city's temperature will stay between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius, along with similar weather. Mumbai has received heavy rainfall continuously over the past few days, which caused a landslide at the Mumbra bypass on September 25. IMD later released a red alert for the city, causing the administration to declare a holiday for schools and colleges on September 26.
The weather department has urged Mumbai residents to stay cautious amid continuous challenging weather conditions. The department has further warned the people residing in the low-key areas to avoid 'unnecessary' outings. IMD's weather bulletin states, “Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Madhya Maharashtra on 28th September.”
