Abhishek Banerjee Office Vandalised: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday alleged that his office in Kolkata was vandalized by the BJP members. While sharing a video on the social media platforms, Banerjee stated that some goons entered the premises in the early hours, adding that they beat up the staff members and destroyed the office entirely. He further alleged that the state police did not arrive at the site for hours despite being contacted multiple times.

In his post, Banerjee alleged that the miscreants assaulted the staff members and snatched their phones, adding that they also took away air purifiers, printers, TVs, and other valuable objects. While describing the incident "unacceptable", the TMC MP asserted that no party members can be above the law and order, further demanding a concrete action on the matter.

"At around 4.30 am, BJP hooligans, armed with weapons, stormed our party office in the heart of Kolkata. They attacked our people, snatched their phones, smashed furniture, ransacked the premises, and destroyed electronic equipment," Banerjee said in a post on X. "For nearly TWO HOURS, despite repeated calls and emails from our people and lawyers, there was no response. This is outrageous and unacceptable," he added.
'Police Troubled TMC Workers'
Apart from this, Upashna Chaudhary, TMC IT Cell in-charge, alleged that the office bearers were not allowed to enter the premises by the state police. While questioning the law and order, she stated that while the police did not arrive when the incident occurred, they troubled the TMC workers later.
"While the incident was unfolding-perhaps under orders from a senior officer-the police were instructed to stay away while the BJP goons were inside," Chaudhary was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI. In a post on X, the Trinamool Congress also criticized the act; however, the BJP has not responded to the allegations yet.
