Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj on Sunday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his address on the eve of GST 2.0 rollout.

Reacting to PM Modi's address, Bharadwaj told PTI that the prime minister usually addresses the nation at 8:00 PM, but this time he did it early at 5:00 PM because there is an India-Pakistan match at 8:00 PM.

He said, "Prime Minister Modi used to address the nation at 8 PM, but today at 5 PM, perhaps because tonight at 8 PM there is the India vs Pakistan match". The government has recently come under widespread criticism from the opposition over the India-Pakistan match.

The opposition and several cricket enthusiasts have argued that India should not play with Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, as it sponsored terrorists who killed 26 civilians in the Pahalgam attack, and because of which all aspects of bilateral relationships are at a halt.

Besides Bharadwaj, also raised the issue of fee hike on H1-B visas by the United States. He said, "It seemed like Prime Minister Modi would say something about increasing the fees charged by companies sponsoring H-1B applicants to $100,000 and imposing tariffs by US President Trump, but the GST news is very old."

In his address, PM Modi said that the "NextGen GST Reforms" will mark India’s "Bachat Utsav". Next gen GST reforms are being implemented from tomorrow, it is like 'GST saving festival,” PM Modi said in his address to the nation.

Stressing the need for adopting Swadeshi, the PM said that people must start prioritising 'Made in India' products. He also urged the state governments to join the campaign of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
