Nothing brings people together like a shared love for fashion and artistry. The impact of the amalgamation and exchange of ideas between designers and fashion experts goes beyond the fashion sphere, and enriches our culture as a whole.

The World Designer Forum (WDF) has rightly understood the importance of inclusivity and diversity in fashion and has fostered one of the largest international communities of designers. Designers from all over the world come together through WDF’s platform to showcase their work and interact with other designers - leading to dynamic conversations that shape the future of fashion.

Indian designers have captured the attention of the world through WDF and are reimagining the potential of India’s fashion scene. The international community is waking up to the cultural diversity present in India’s fashion and styles and witnessing a transformation of traditional styles into a contemporary mainstay.

The work done by our fashion designers is not only keeping our traditions alive, but also integrating it into the lives of newer generations which is promising for the future of our culture.

And to celebrate such contributions made by Indian fashion designers, WDF founded the National Designer Awards in 2017. Recently, the 6th edition of WDF’s National Designer Awards took place in New Delhi on 29 and 30 December and was attended by 5000 designers, stylists and fashion experts.

The two-day gala was a star-studded affair. Industrialists Shekhar Dixit and Puran Dawar, Actress Shantipriya, Designers Sabyasachi Satpathy, Ken Ferens, Navyatha Vidhya Ashwani, T Hima Bindu, Arul Selvi, Nara Pavithra, Grita Selix, Divya Barathy, Prasanna Prakash and Amit Tyagi were seen in attendance.

The awards and titles presented at this year’s ceremony recognised the unique contributions made by various designers.
