Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: The London-bound Air India flight AI 171 crashed after reaching 625 feet in Ahmedabad on Thursday, June 12. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner gained an altitude of 625 feet before crashing and turning into a ball of fire. Visuals from the incident showing thick plumes of smoke are circulating on the internet. Ambulances were taking people to the nearest hospital for medical care.
Air India flight carrying 242 passengers was scheduled to fly from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick. FlightRadar, a flight tracking platform, said that it received the last signals seconds after takeoff, and the plane was lost in less than a minute.

The flight tracking platform mentioned that the last signal from the aircraft was received at 1:38 PM. The London-bound flight with 242 passengers went down near Meghaninagar area in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. According to a statement by the official, the flight took off at 1:38 PM and crashed seconds after takeoff in a residential area.
Air India said, “Air India flight AI 171 bound to fly from Ahmedabad to London was involved in an incident today.” Among the 242 passengers, including two pilots, 10 cabin crew, 169 were Indian nationals, 53 were British nationals, 1 Canadian national, and 7 were Portuguese nationals, the authorities said. Rescue operations are ongoing.
Prompted by this, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport were shut to prevent further escalations. Though the operations have begun again. The Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said, “We are on highest alert and I am personally monitoring the situation and have directed all aviation and emergency response agencies to take swift and coordinated action.” The Civil Aviation Minister and aviation authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
