Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Following the devastating crash of Air India Flight 171 in Gujarat, the Tata Group has announced financial and humanitarian support for victims and their families. Each family that lost a loved one in the tragedy will receive Rs1 crore as compensation, the group confirmed on Thursday.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that words could not capture the grief caused by the crash. In a post shared by the Tata Group on X, Chandrasekaran said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and with those who have been injured.”

In addition to the ex-gratia payment, the group has pledged to cover all medical expenses for those injured in the crash. Tata has assured that all necessary support will be provided to aid in their treatment and recovery.

The group also committed to rebuilding infrastructure damaged in the incident. The hostel building of B J Medical College, which was hit during the crash, will be reconstructed with the support of the Tata Group.

Ahmedabad Plane Crash

The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon, when Air India Flight AI171, a London-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. According to Flightradar24 data, the aircraft lost communication less than a minute after departure, at an altitude of 625 feet.

The crash site was located in Meghaninagar, a densely populated residential area near the airport. The plane’s impact caused a massive fire, with thick black smoke seen rising from the area. Panic spread among local residents following the collision.

The aircraft was carrying 242 people, including passengers and crew. While rescue operations are ongoing, the nation has responded with an outpouring of condolences and support for those affected.
