The investigators probing the Air India crash are reportedly closely examining the tail section of the crashed aircraft for more information. The investigators believe that the tail section could hold critical evidence, as it largely remained unaffected after the crash. The officials stated that while the tail assembly showed signs of a “contained electric fire", it was restricted to very few components of the rear section of the aircraft, reported the Indian Express. The officials further stated that the tail section had remained largely undamaged by the crash explosion, and even the fuel fire did not affect it.

While providing details, the officials stated that the components of the tail section have been stored safely in Ahmedabad, adding that it could lead to any conclusion regarding possible malfunction in the electric supply of the aircraft. “They hold the key for a detailed analysis of a possible malfunction in the electric supply of the aircraft during lift off,” an official was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
