The Nagpur Police has identified a 35-year-old man, who is allegedly behind a recent spree of bomb threats to Indian Airlines. Jagdish Uikey, an author of a book on terrorism, has been identified by a special branch of the Nagpur Police. Uikey, a resident of Gondia, was previously arrested in 2021 in a separate case and came under police scrutiny after his hoax emails were traced. When police reached his house, he was found missing.
"Uikey is currently on the run after these emails were traced back to him," PTI reported quoting a senior police official. A special team has been formed to arrest him.

Notably, more than 300 threats have been received by various operators of Indian Airlines in the last 13 days. These threats have caused unprecedented delays, emergency landings and widespread panic. Questions continue to arise regarding who is behind this string of threats.
As per news agency PTI, a detailed probe into the threats by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shweta Khedkar linked Uikey to the emails.
Besides, officials said Uikey was also behind threats to several other government institutions, including the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Railway Minister, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy, airline offices, the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

He also requested a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss his insights on terror threats.
