Ajit Pawar Plane Crash: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar and four others died after a chartered plane carrying them crashed in Baramati, Pune district. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed the incident, stating that the Learjet 45 aircraft crashed while attempting to land at the Baramati Airport, killing all five people on board. The NCP leader was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to attend public meetings for the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections.
Visuals from the crash site show the aircraft in a charred condition, engulfed in flames as thick smoke rises from the wreckage. Photographs from the scene further reveal the plane's remains completely shattered across the ground.

Soon after the crash, local residents rushed to the scene and engaged in rescue efforts. Emergency services, including state police and fire services, were also seen at the crash site.
Ajit Pawar Plane Crash
According to news agency ANI, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ajit Pawar was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to address four public meetings ahead of the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections when the fatal incident occurred. The aircraft, a Bombardier Learjet 45 (VT-SSK), belonged to Delhi-based charter service provider VSR.
According to the DGCA, the jet took off from Mumbai earlier that morning but encountered difficulties during its landing, crashing at the Baramati Airport.
Expressing condolences over the tragic death of the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, "Shri Ajit Pawar Ji was a leader of the people, having a strong grassroots level connect. He was widely respected as a hardworking personality at the forefront of serving the people of Maharashtra. His understanding of administrative matters and passion for empowering the poor and downtrodden were also noteworthy. His untimely demise is very shocking and saddening. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti."
